Campus to gather for Messiah Sing

The Brandeis tradition will start at 4 p.m. in the Shapiro Campus Center

Festive music from the Brandeis-Wellesley Orchestra and the Brandeis University Chorus will fill the Shapiro Campus Center Atrium Dec. 9.

messiahsingMessiah Sing, a performance of George Frideric Handel's oratorio “Messiah” and its iconic "Hallelujah" chorus, is scheduled to start at 4 p.m. inside the campus center. Scores will be available for anyone who wants to sing along or follow the performance. The event is an annual tradition for the Brandeis community.

The performance will include solos by Pam Wolfe and Jason McStoots, both instructors in the Department of Music, and Irina Kareva. The Brandeis-Wellesley Orchestra and the Brandeis University Chorus are both led by Associate Professor of the Practice of Music and Director Neal Hampton. It will be followed at 5 p.m. by informal caroling and refreshments of egg nog and kosher Christmas cookies. The Waltham Group will be holding a toy drive for Toys for Tots.
