Bateman wins Rabb School Outstanding Teacher Award

Leanne Bateman, the academic program chair for the Project and Program Management and Strategic Analytics programs, has been awarded the 2015 Rabb School Outstanding Teacher Award. The annual honor, which includes a $1,000 prize, is conferred based on student evaluations, the development and delivery of courses that exceed the school’s quality standards and a support for the goals of the Rabb School.

Bateman, who is also the principal consultant with the Boston-based management firm Beacon Strategy Group, is an expert in project management, a certified scrum master and certified information professional. She has taught in the Rabb School for eight years, developing several courses, including “Foundations of Data Science and Analytics,” “Challenges in Project Management,” and “Event Project Management.” She headed the development and launch of the master of science in strategic analytics program in the fall of 2014 and continues to serve as its chair.

“Professor Bateman is very diligent to make sure all students have a good understanding of the topics,” one student wrote. “She is both encouraging and critical of student efforts and continuously challenges the students to raise the bar. She certainly deserves any award that the school may consider for her but I am sure she is most satisfied with knowing that her students got the best out of the class.”
