Watch: Benediction offered at Inauguration of Brandeis President Ronald Liebowitz

To reflect the spiritual and religious diversity among Brandeis students, faculty and staff, the Office of the Provost sent a campuswide invitation for individuals to submit a benediction or blessing to be shared at the Inauguration of Brandeis' ninth president, Ronald D. Liebowitz.

The benediction video was assembled from these submissions by a committee that included Brett Banhazl, University videographer, Bernadette Brooten, Myra and Robert Kraft and Jacob Hiatt Professor of Christian Studies; Wendy Cadge, professor of sociology and women's gender and sexuality studies; Revernd Matthew Carriker, Protestant chaplain; Allison Cornelisse, pastoral associate for Catholic and spiritual life; Laura Gardner, executive director, strategic communications, Office of Communications; Len Saxe, Klutznick Professor of Contemporary Jewish Studies; and Rabbi Elyse Winick '86, Jewish chaplain. During the video presentation, the Brandeis Chamber Singers performed "The Road Home," arranged by Stephen Paulus. The song is based on a traditional American Folk song that first appeared in published form in 1835.
