Health Service Fee
Brandeis University has established an annual fee to cover part of the cost of health care provided at the Health Center. This is a mandatory fee for all undergraduate students. This fee is not to be confused with the cost of the Qualifying Student Health Insurance Plan (QSHIP), the university-sponsored insurance plan offered to students who do not have private insurance, or want to use this plan as a supplement to a primary insurance plan.
The Health Service Fee covers the cost of visits to Brandeis Health Center and a limited number of visits with the Psychological Counseling Center. The Health Center does not offer fee-for-service medical care.
The following costs are the responsibility of the student:
- Any claims for services not paid by your private insurance. Contact your insurance company before seeing physicians to make sure they are in network.
- Any claims for services not paid by the QSHIP. Download the QSHIP brochure (PDF) or see the insurance coordinator.
- Laboratory tests not covered by insurance
- X-rays not covered by insurance
- Dental care
- Immunizations
- Routine eye care
