Ruth Halperin-Kaddari, an expert on family law and international women’s rights, is founding academic director of the Ruth and Emanuel Rackman Center for the Advancement of Women’s Status, at Bar-Ilan University’s Faculty of Law, in Israel. She also serves as a professor of law at the university.

She completed three terms on the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women, during which she served twice as the committee’s vice chair, and as the first chair of the Working Group on Inquiries.

A graduate of Yale Law School, Halperin-Kaddari is a renowned speaker and has published extensively in her areas of expertise. She has received numerous research grants and international awards, including the U.S. Department of State’s International Women of Courage Award. In 2018, she was named one of Apolitical’s 100 Most Influential People in Gender Policy around the world.

Halperin-Kaddari is committed to achieving justice for the victims of the sexual violence and gender-based atrocities executed by Hamas on Oct. 7. Since Oct. 8, she has been working endlessly to achieve this goal.
