Requirements for the Major

Important Items to Note for the Finance Major
"Double Counting"
Students undertaking the finance major and the business major are subject to additional restrictions. Business majors and finance majors may only double count the overlapping courses required for both: Bus 6a, Bus 47a and Fin 103a.
For finance and economics double majors, BUS 6a (required for the finance major) will count as a lower level elective for economics and ECON 20a (required for the economics major) will count as a finance, technology and society elective for business. As a result, no further "double-counts" are allowed for the finance major.
If a student is a triple major, these double counts are stackable, meaning they restrict in all combinations and students cannot receive any more double counts.
200-Level Courses
Juniors and seniors have the opportunity to take 200-level graduate courses at the Business School provided they meet the course prerequisites. Students need to request permission to register. To do so, please email undergradbusfin@brandeis.edu.
