After completing my undergraduate studies and working for about a year, I realized I wanted to pivot into data analytics. To build a solid foundation in this field, I decided graduate school was the best route. Brandeis International Business School stood out to me during my search due to its location near Boston, expansive curriculum, immersion programs and career support. It was an easy choice to make!
The MA program does a good job of being both flexible and rigorous, allowing students to delve into various disciplines across the business spectrum — including financial economics, real estate, data analytics and consulting. I appreciated the opportunity to explore these topics, which ultimately helped me clarify my career goals and led to my decision to concentrate in Data Analytics. I also enjoyed the applied nature of the program. The emphasis on practical application ensured that the theories we studied were directly relevant to real-world scenarios. This balance of theoretical and practical learning was particularly beneficial.
In several important ways. The wide range of coursework honed my analytical and critical thinking skills, making it easy to adapt to different fields. Field projects, group projects and case competitions deepened my appreciation for collaboration — an often undervalued yet important skill in any work environment. Lastly, the Career Strategies and Engagement Center provided practical guidance on navigating my career journey, with resume screens, interview preparation, Industry Treks and coaching that were instrumental in planning my next steps post-graduation.
Vibrant and diverse! The International Business School attracts bright, passionate students from all over the world who are welcoming and eager to learn. This breadth of experiences enriched my learning both in and outside the classroom. Meeting, working, traveling and celebrating with such a cohort was a highlight of my time at the school and a key reason I’d recommend the program to anyone considering it.
Dive in and explore while keeping your long-term goals in mind. The program flies by, so tailor your courses and activities to your post-graduation interests, but stay flexible if new opportunities arise. The International Business School also offers many services and programs through the Career Strategies and Engagement Center. Don’t hesitate to seek support often and freely!
