Why did you choose Brandeis International Business School?

I chose Brandeis International Business School because of its unique curriculum, which offers a variety of finance concentrations and integrates academic rigor with practical, real-world experience. The school’s focus on experiential learning, including internships, field projects, Industry Treks and student clubs, stood out to me as an excellent way to prepare for a career in finance.

How would you describe the MSF program?

I would describe the Master of Science in Finance (MSF) program as a perfect blend of academic rigor and hands-on practical experience. The program offers courses that challenge your theoretical understanding of finance while also providing opportunities to work on challenging projects that simulate real-world scenarios. This combination equips students with a strong foundation in finance and the skills necessary to apply their knowledge effectively in professional settings.

What were the highlights of your time at Brandeis?

Academically, I enjoyed the opportunity to take impactful courses like Private Equity and Advanced Corporate Finance, which significantly deepened my understanding of the finance field. Experiential learning was also a highlight, including my field project, an internship and my work as president of the Real Estate Investment Club. These experiences honed my leadership and practical skills. One of my most rewarding moments was receiving the Excellence in Finance Award in recognition of my academic performance.

What did you learn from serving as president of the Real Estate Investment Club?

It was an incredible experience! I had the privilege of working with a fantastic team and faculty advisor while deepening my interest in real estate finance. The Real Estate Investment Club provided me with a well-rounded experience through Industry Treks, site tours and networking events that enriched my understanding of the industry. Additionally, I gained valuable leadership experience by managing and organizing club events, which helped me enhance my coordination and organizational skills.

How did your time at Brandeis prepare you for your career?

My time at Brandeis provided me with a solid academic foundation and technical skills and helped me develop strong interpersonal abilities. Through a field project with a FinTech company and an internship in investment banking, I had the chance to build on my career goals while exploring different areas within finance. These experiences broadened my horizons and deepened my understanding of the industry, preparing me for the next steps in my career.

What should prospective students know about the business school?

The International Business School is a tight-knit community where everyone supports and cheers for each other’s success. At the same time, the school provides numerous opportunities and avenues to build your skills and grow as a professional. My advice to prospective students is to take full advantage of everything the school has to offer — it will lead to an incredibly enriching and rewarding experience.
