Prerequisites: ECON 202a and ECON 210f.

International institutions—including the International Monetary Fund, multilateral development banks, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and many others—manage cooperation on global economic issues ranging from financial stability and fair trade to poverty reduction and climate change. This course examines the structure, operations and effectiveness of multilateral organizations and enables students to contribute to their work with research projects conducted under the guidance of Brandeis faculty and the staff of cooperating institutions.
