Turning Good Ideas into Great Stories

Even the greatest business idea requires a compelling pitch to stand out. The Pitch Summit shows you how it is done. This workshop and prize competition will give you all the tools you need to creatively and persuasively craft your idea into a compelling, five-minute story and present it to an audience.

Your challenge will be to come up with a creative solution to a business sustainability opportunityThe final presentations will be done in five-person teams. Teammates for the pitch will be assigned on Saturday.

By the end of the Pitch Summit, you will feel comfortable and confident standing at the front of the room presenting your team’s idea — a skill that will come in handy no matter what you decide to do in the future.

Food, fun and beverages are all included. The winning team will receive a $1,000 award. What are you waiting for?

Kenny Raskin

Kenny Raskin

Kenny Raskin has been a corporate coach and facilitator since 1998. In that time, he has facilitated over 700 executive training workshops across the globe, in addition to teaching leadership programs as part of the Executive Education programs at Columbia, Northwestern, Duke and Harvard Business School. He has been an accomplished actor and teacher of acting and physical comedy for more than 15 years. Kenny is also an avid musician, playing over 10 instruments including his favorite, the ukulele.

Alice Ain Rich is a successful, dynamic and innovative coach, human resources consultant and corporate people expert. Her clients come from all walks of life, at many different levels and seek coaching and support in every stage of the career process. Alice is proficient in all areas of career and executive coaching, including career assessment, resume development and presentation, mock interviewing, networking, salary negotiation and processing change.

Robert Walsh

With over 40 years of experience working in theater, film and television, Robert Walsh combines his work as an actor, director, producer and teacher to draw the best out of students and to help them position themselves for a career in the industry.

Philippe Wells

Philippe Wells

Philippe Wells is a seasoned entrepreneur in the health and wellness industry. Previously he worked in structured finance at Bain Capital and in strategy consulting at the Boston Consulting Group. Since 2019, Philippe has taught and developed courses at Brandeis International Business School in entrepreneurship, social impact investing, business fundamentals and data analytics for business.

FAQs

What is the business sustainability challenge the teams will be working on?

Teams will be asked to launch an innovative social venture in the clothing and fashion industry to make it more sustainable, in conjunction with the 2023 Hult Prize Challenge.

Who can participate?

Undergraduates, graduate students and post-doctoral fellows from any Brandeis department or school are eligible.

What are the evaluation criteria for the Pitch Summit prize?

Persuasiveness of the pitch.

Creativity behind the idea.

Demonstrated team effort.

Effectiveness of the proposed solution.
