Brandeis International Business School

Meghna Manohar ’20, MA’21: Fruitt Family Scholarship

Meghna ManoharWhy did you choose Brandeis International Business School?

I always knew that I wanted to get a master's in Economics, which is why I was originally drawn to Brandeis. When I was admitted to Brandeis for my undergraduate career, I was admitted into the International Business School Scholars program and automatically enrolled into the BA/MA program. The fact that I didn't have to take a GRE, my class sizes were so small, and the faculty have been so supportive has helped reaffirm my decision.

What kind of work or research are you interested in?

I decided to concentrate in Data Analytics. I am interested in the technology sector and other growing industries.

What are your career goals?

I'm hoping to become either a data or business analyst. I've gained a lot of skills in data analytics and visualization through my courses and employment. I want to put these new skills to the test.

What do you enjoy most about being at Brandeis?

I've learned so many skills from my time at Brandeis. For example, I just took the course Information Visualization where we learned software skills in Tableau. I ended up using that software for an interview a few weeks later.

What are you most proud of in your academic or professional life?

I am proud that I was able to keep up my academic rigor, graduating magna cum laude, while working two jobs for more than half my time at Brandeis.

What do you want to accomplish at Brandeis before you graduate?

I'm hoping to perfect some more soft skills, such as negotiating and small talk.

What impact has the Fruitt Family Scholarship had on your education?

The Fruitt Family Scholarship is one of the only reasons that I was able to continue my education. I loved my time as an undergraduate, and I'm so grateful that I can now finish up my master's degree.
