Brandeis International Business School

Yuval Shapira, MBA/MSF’20: Michael Jellinek Fellowship

Yuval ShapiraWhy did you choose Brandeis International Business School?

I heard good things about Brandeis from a friend that attended the university as an undergraduate. Then when I started researching schools, I found that Brandeis International Business School is ranked among the highest business schools in the U.S. (and the world).

What kind of work or research are you interested in?

Data Analytics and Strategy and Innovation (MBA), Corporate Finance and Transfer Pricing (MSF). I'm mostly interested in consulting.

What are your career goals?

The main goal is to work for a consulting firm, but I would also enjoy and actively seek a position in the operations department, as I think it suits me and I would thrive in that environment.

What do you enjoy most about being at Brandeis?

I love the company and experience of meeting people I would have never met otherwise. Schoolwork is definitely enjoyable and very interesting.

What are you most proud of in your academic or professional life?

Maintaining an extremely high GPA (3.84). I didn't have the greatest GPA in my undergrad, so I took this as a "second chance.” I’m also proud of winning the Brandeis Consulting Association “crack the case” competition last year.

Outside of this degree, my proudest achievement was when I revised and republished the National Students' Projection in Israel by changing the forecasting method, as part of my role in the Central Bureau of Statistics in Israel.

What do you want to accomplish at Brandeis before you graduate?

I wish to get an internship that will help me grow and to learn as much as I can from the classes.
