From a young age, I have always enjoyed learning foreign languages and experiencing different cultures. Additionally, although I enjoyed my undergraduate quantitative economics degree at Tufts, I had been looking to get more into the business side of things. This made Brandeis International Business School the perfect fit for me as I look to develop my global career.
My area of concentration is business analytics. I am particularly interested in information visualization and finding new ways to make large quantities of data more accessible and meaningful for others. Since starting at Brandeis this past summer, I have discovered a new passion for coding that I never knew I had. I hope to further develop these coding skills so that I can better and more efficiently analyze data.
I would like to work in an international capacity at some point in my life. After reaching a near fluent level of Japanese in my undergraduate studies, I would love to go to Japan and use what I have learned in a professional environment. I also enjoy leading others, so becoming a supervisor is something that I feel I would very much enjoy and excel at. Brandeis is giving me the tools I need to thrive as a professional analyst in an international environment.
In my part time work at United States Citizenship and Immigration Services, I have been able to use what I have learned at Brandeis to better create visualizations for senior management. In particular, I was able to use R to create geographical visualizations, which has been very useful in our analysis.
“Receiving a fellowship has meant a lot to me. It is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to learn exactly what I am interested in without the outside pressure of loans and debt. I am extremely grateful to my fellowship donors who are supporting me through this wonderful experience. Thank you!”
