The Forward named Elyssa Joy Auster one of America’s 33 most inspiring rabbis of 2015. She and her husband, Hazzan Matthew Klein, had a son, George Shalom, in May 2015. Jordan Barkin is a freelance writer whose articles have been published in Atlanta magazine and the Atlanta Jewish Times, and by Gannett. He was previously associate editor at Veranda, a Hearst magazine. Jordan Berman married Liz Cantu on June 21, 2015, in Columbus, Ohio. Michael Berger ’02; Robert Kavitt ’02; and Eva Stern, MA’04, attended. Jordan is an assistant attorney general for Ohio, and Liz is an associate fashion designer at Abercrombie & Fitch. Lily Davidson and Brett Rod­gers welcomed Sy Benjamin to their family on May 20, 2015. They live in Washington, D.C. Lily is the senior director of finance and administration at the National Family Planning and Reproductive Health Association. Rebecca Frisch married Scott Lauber in New Hampshire. Judges at the wedding included Eric Matthews; Peter Dempsey; Dana Langer; David Dagan ’02, MA’03; Morgan (Rosenheck) Sheena; Solomon Sheena; Lisa Pollack ’94; Phyllis Gotlib ’72, P’03, P’10 (Rebecca’s mother); Deborah Frisch ’10 (Rebecca’s sister); and Jane Wolf Silberberg ’71. Rebecca and Scott reside in Boston, where she is a vice president for government relations at TD Bank and he covers the Red Sox for ESPN. Mohammad Zulfiquer Hossain recently relocated to Dhaka, Bangladesh, to join the Department of Pharmacy at BRAC University as an associate professor. Greg Lawrence, who lives in Hollywood, Florida, serves as director of The Tribe, a not-for-profit focused on leadership development and community for young Jewish professionals in Greater Miami. In July 2015, he and his wife, Rachel Kaplan, welcomed their first daughter, Hazel Glow, into the world. Rivka Liss-Levinson married Benjamin Aronin on May 31, 2015, at Temple Israel in Great Neck, New York. Alumni in attendance included Rivka’s sister and brother-in-law, Bluma (Liss-Levinson) Sussman ’00 and Jeff Sussman ’00, Heller MA’08, and Benjamin’s sister, Miriam Aronin ’01. Attorney Michaela May is a solo practitioner who primarily represents employees in wage, discrimination and contract matters. She recently opened an office in Arlington, Massachusetts. Peretz Partensky married Louisa Goodman Bukiet on June 20, 2015. Daniel Greisokh, MA’04; Jane Partensky ’06; and Noam Smooha ’06 attended. The couple lives in San Francisco, where Peretz is co-founder of Sourcery, a company that automates back-office operations at food-service establishments. Yaser Robles is a member of the history, philosophy, religion and social sciences faculty at Choate Rosemary Hall. Joshua Segal, MA’04, was elevated to partner at law firm Lawson & Weitzen in Boston, where he practices general civil litigation. Scott Selinger was made partner at Debevoise & Plimpton. Based in the law firm’s New York office, he focuses on complex acquisition and leveraged finance transactions, and has extensive experience in syndicated bank loan and high-yield transactions. Manisha Snoyer launched a startup, Cottageclass.com, a community marketplace that helps families find unique, affordable learning experiences for kids, led by local parents and experts. Eva Stern, MA’04, was named to The Jewish Week’s 36 Under 36, which recognizes young Jews who are blending their Jewish values with education, social justice and art to create a more thriving and secure world. She serves as Big Tent Judaism’s senior director of training, working with professionals and volunteer leaders from hundreds of Jewish organizations throughout North America to help them find, welcome and engage thousands of unaffiliated Jews and intermarried families into Jewish life. Melissa Stern Sutcliffe’s son Moses was born on April 25, 2015. She is the clinical director of pediatric neuropsychology at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. Yaffa Vitberg married Shaun Steigman on Dec. 13, 2015, at the Shelter Rock Jewish Center, in Roslyn, New York. Yaffa and Shaun are attending physicians at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center, in pediatric emergency medicine and pediatric surgery, respectively. They are also assistant professors at Weill Cornell Medical College.
