Call for Nominations: Richman Fellowship and Gittler Prize

Jan. 23, 2019

Dear Brandeis Students, Faculty, and Staff,

I am writing to seek your assistance in identifying candidates for two distinguished prizes from Brandeis University: the Richman Distinguished Fellowship in Public Life, and the Joseph B. and Toby Gittler Prize.

The Richman Distinguished Fellowship recognizes an individual who has improved American society, strengthened democratic institutions, advanced social justice, or increased opportunities for all Americans to share in the benefits of the United States. The appointment includes an honorarium of $25,000 and requires the recipient to spend two to three days on the Brandeis campus. The deadline for nominations is March 1. For more information and the nomination form, visit www.brandeis.edu/richmanfellow.

The Joseph B. and Toby Gittler Prize recognizes an individual who has made outstanding and lasting scholarly contributions to racial, ethnic, and/or religious relations. The award includes a cash prize of $25,000 and a medal, and requires the recipient to spend two to three days on the Brandeis campus. The selected individual does not have to be an American citizen or reside in the United States. The deadline for nominations is April 1. For more information and the nomination form, visit www.brandeis.edu/gittlerprize.

Self-nominations will not be accepted for either award.

If you have any questions, please contact Leigh Swigart, director of programs in international justice and society at the International Center for Ethics, Justice, and Public Life at Brandeis University, at 781-736-2694 or by email at swigart@brandeis.edu.
