Celebrating the Brandeis Class of 2020

To the Class of 2020,

Congratulations to you for earning your Brandeis degree! And congratulations to your families, who, through their devotion and support, contributed to the success we are celebrating today. I would also like to extend my gratitude to the faculty and staff who helped make this moment in your Brandeis journey possible. In recognition of this milestone, please watch our special celebration video featuring members of the Brandeis community sharing their best wishes and words of support with each of you, and this performance of the Brandeis Alma Mater. Brandeis alumni also offer you a congratulatory toast to your success.

Every year, Brandeis honors the academic accomplishments of our students through the conferral of degrees, and this year, we will share this important moment virtually. I am pleased to invite all of our 2020 graduates, your families, and the entire Brandeis community to view the conferral of degrees.

I know that many of you will also participate in the virtual mini celebrations organized by our schools and departments taking place over the next several days. You can learn more about these mini celebrations on the Commencement 2020 website.

You, our 2020 graduates, had already made your distinct mark on Brandeis as students and contributing members of our community. And when the COVID-19 pandemic presented you with an unexpected set of challenges and changes in your final weeks of study, you nonetheless persevered and completed your degree successfully. Now, as you become alumni of Brandeis, we know you are prepared and eager to be the emerging leaders and problem-solvers needed in a world growing more complex each day.

While we are virtually greeting you, conferring degrees, and holding mini celebrations, this is not the end of our celebrations for the Class of 2020. As Brandeisians, we have strong connections with one another that draw us together throughout our lives. It is in this spirit that I look forward to coming together as a community to celebrate your achievements with an in-person Commencement on the Brandeis campus in the spring of 2021.

Congratulations again, and best wishes to the Class of 2020!

Best regards,

Ron
