Call for Richman Fellowship and Gittler Prize Nominations

Jan. 26, 2022

Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,

I am writing to seek your assistance in identifying candidates for two distinguished prizes from Brandeis University: the Richman Distinguished Fellowship in Public Life and the Joseph B. and Toby Gittler Prize.

The Richman Distinguished Fellowship honors individuals active in public life whose contributions have had a significant impact on improving American society, strengthening democratic institutions, advancing social justice, or increasing opportunities for all citizens to realize and share in the benefits of this nation. The Joseph B. and Toby Gittler Prize recognizes an individual who has made outstanding and lasting scholarly contributions to racial, ethnic, and/or religious relations. Both awards are hosted by the International Center for Ethics, Justice and Public Life on behalf of the Office of the President and Office of the Provost.

The recipients of both prizes will spend time on campus as part of a residency, and each year, our community has been fortunate to be able to benefit from the presence of the individuals we have recognized. I have no doubt that the next set of winners will prove to be just as illuminating. You can learn more about the awards, their deadlines, and how to nominate someone on the prizes individual websites. We look forward to receiving your nominations.

Sincerely,

Ron
