2022 Leonard Bernstein Festival of the Creative Arts
April 25, 2022
Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,
I invite all of you to come out and experience the wonderful music, theater and artwork that will transform the Brandeis campus during the 2022 Leonard Bernstein Festival of the Creative Arts, which takes place Tuesday, April 26, to Wednesday, May 4.
The Festival of the Arts honors its founder, the great American composer and conductor — and Brandeis faculty member — Leonard Bernstein and his incredible legacy as an artist, educator, activist, and humanitarian.
All events are free and most are open to the public. Here are just a few of the highlights:
-
The Create@Brandeis Craft Market: handmade jewelry, pottery, artwork and more
-
Culture X, a joyful student performance of dance, music, and spoken word that celebrates Brandeis' diversity
-
The 11th annual Senior Festival, a showcase for graduating theater arts students to present their thesis project work.
-
The Class of 2022 Senior Studio Exhibition
-
Sound and Space in Slosberg: acoustic and electronic sound installations created by our graduate composers
-
The interactive sculpture "Portable Window," by Tory Fair, associate professor of sculpture
Go to www.brandeis.edu/arts/festival for a listing of all events, including time, date, and location. Festival guidebooks are also available around campus. For more information, email Arts Engagement at arts@brandeis.edu.
Let the arts lift you to a place where you can take a second look at the world we live in. This year's Festival of the Arts celebrates BUOYANCY. I hope you will join me in the sights and sounds of this extraordinary week.
Sincerely,
Ron
