Martin Gross '72, P '01, P '04, P '08, Co-Chair

Vice Chairman, Founder and President, Sandalwood Securities, Inc.

Marty Gross is founder and president of Sandalwood Securities, a firm that identifies, analyzes, invests in and monitors niche alternative investment strategies and leading hedge fund managers implementing such strategies. He began his career in fund management in 1983, and founded Sandalwood in 1990. Prior to his investment management career, Gross was a tax and corporate lawyer in New York City.

Marty serves as Vice Chair of the Investment Committee and as a Member of the Board of Overseers of the Brandeis International Business School.  He is also the president of the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, a member of The Council on Foreign Relations, and serves on the Board of Trustees of the New York Historical Society.  He served on the Committee on Research Libraries of the New York Public Library where he established, and continues to endow, the Martin J. Gross Collection of Voltaire, one of the world's most important collections of the great writer's works, as well as on the Dean's Council of New York University Law School.  Marty received his B.A. summa cum laude at Brandeis University (1972) and his M.A. at Brasenose College, Oxford University (1974). He later received his J.D. at the University of Chicago Law School (1977) and his LL.M. at New York University Law School (1981).

Bruce Pollack

Managing Partner, Centre Partners Management LLC

Bruce Pollack is a managing partner at Centre Partners, a leading private equity firm focused on investments in North American based middle market companies. He has been with the firm since 1991. He began his investment activity in 1985 at TSG Holdings, Inc., a diversified investment company, and then at RSG Partners, Inc. Prior to that, he was in the mergers and acquisitions departments of Becker Paribas Incorporated and Merrill Lynch Capital Markets.

Bruce currently serves as a director of Distant Lands Trading Co., DSI Holding Company, Inc., K2 Pure Solutions, L.P., Maverick Media, LLC, Ross Aviation, LLC, U.S. Retirement Partners, Inc., and as a co-manager of Palisades Ventures, LLC. He is a member of the Board of Governors of the Weizmann Institute of Science.

He received a B.A. from Brandeis University (1981).

Co-Founder and Managing Partner, HighVista Strategies

Dan Jick is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner of HighVista Strategies, an investment firm that specializes in endowment-style portfolio management. Dan spent 23 years at Goldman Sachs, where he was a Managing Director and Regional Manager of the Boston Office.

Dan serves a Member of the Board of Brandeis University. He also serves as the Investment Committee Chair of the Board of Managers for CareGroup and Combined Jewish Philanthropies, and is currently Vice-Chairman of the Foundation Board for the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

Dan received a B.A. from Brandeis University (1979) and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School (1981).

Louis Perlmutter ’56Louis Perlmutter, H '95

Senior Advisor, Corporate Partners LLC

Lou Perlmutter was one of the world’s leading investment bankers for over 35 years, establishing one of Wall Street’s first Mergers and Acquisitions departments at Lazard Freres & Company. Lou served for over 30 years as a senior partner of Lazard, and is currently a Senior Advisor to Corporate Partners LLC, a private equity fund.

Lou serves as a Member of the Board of Trustees at Brandeis University, where he is the first alumnus to serve as its chair. He is also on the Board of Fellows of Harvard Medical School, a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and serves on the Board of Directors and Treasurer of Friends of the World Federation of the United Nations Association. In addition, he is on the Advisory Board of Foreign Affairs, Board of Governors American Jewish Committee, Board of Governors for The State of the USA, and is a Trustee of the Blaustein Institute for Human Rights. He is the past Director of the Charles H. Revson Foundation, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Brandeis University, the Transatlantic Institute, the American Jewish Congress, and the past Chairman of the Executive Committee of the United Nations Association of the U.S.A.

He received his bachelor's degree and an honorary degree from Brandeis University and earned a J.D. degree from the University of Michigan Law School.

Retired Chairman and CEO, Wellington Management Company LLP

Perry Traquina stepped down as Chairman and CEO of Wellington Management Company at the end of 2014 after a 34 year career at the investment management firm which managed over $900 billion in client assets and had over 2,200 employees worldwide in its 12 global offices. He currently serves as a corporate director on the boards of eBay, Inc. and Morgan Stanley.

Perry is a chartered financial analyst and a member of the Association for Investment Management and Research and a trustee of the Winsor School in Boston. He was elected to the Brandeis Board of Trustees in 2002 and has served as co-chair of the investment committee and as a member of the executive committee.

Perry graduated summa cum laude from Brandeis in 1978. As an undergraduate, he studied at the London School of Economics and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He earned his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School in 1980.
