IT Governance Workshops, May 2nd

Share perspectives on information services, resources and technology

Share your perspectives on how the Brandeis community should make decisions about information services, resources, and technology, by participating in one of two IT Governance Workshops:

Wednesday, May 2, from 9:30 a.m. to noon
Wednesday, May 2, from 1:30 to 4 p.m.

Both workshops will be held in the Levine-Ross Room in the Hassenfeld Conference Center, and refreshments will be provided. If you are unable to attend either workshop, there will be many other avenues and opportunities for participation throughout the planning process.

The term "IT Governance" refers to any campus-wide decision-making system used to set technology policy. Such systems are common at most colleges and universities and serve both to coordinate the use and development of technology across all campus units, and to allow the structured participation of the community in setting strategic goals and establishing institutional priorities.  

Currently, Brandeis does not have a comprehensive system of IT governance. As library and IT functions have been merged at Brandeis, one of the first things that John Unsworth, vice provost for library and technology services and chief information officer, plans to do is discuss developing what a Brandeis-specific governance structure might be and to what extent it should also govern library policies and priorities.
