Professor of Psychology Malcolm Watson has done a lot of research on the relationship between symbolic play, fantasy and creativity in children. He says Halloween is a prime time for children to explore these areas, but that fantasy can sometimes be a bit too scary for kids- especially the younger ones. In this BrandeisNOW 90-Second Lecture, Watson talks about how parents can help their children have fun on Halloween without having nightmares afterward.
