For teaching award recipients, students cite deep appreciation
“More important than the curriculum is the question of the methods of teaching and the spirit in which the teaching is given.”
– Bertrand Russell
Each year, the Brandeis University community salutes the work of professors whose special devotion to their craft distinguishes them among their peers and reminds us that the best teachers are also good mentors, advisors and leaders. Honorees are chosen in part based on reviews of their work by their students. Some of this year’s evaluations, shared at the April 2 faculty meeting, reflect a deep appreciation for the teachers who not only educate, but who engender in their students a life-long love of learning and help to shape lives in the process.
