Brian Caplan '82 gives BrandeisNOW a sneak peek of exhibit featuring personal collection
A Brandeis alumnus is preparing to share a piece of history with his alma mater. Brian Caplan ’82, a New York City lawyer, will bring as many as 300 artifacts pertaining to President Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War to Brandeis in honor of Lincoln’s 200th birthday, which falls on Feb. 12.
“Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War: A Commemorative Exhibition,” hosted by the Robert D. Farber University Archives & Special Collections Department (part of Library and Technology Services), will begin with an opening reception at Rapaporte Treasure Hall on Feb. 10 from 5-9 p.m.
BrandeisNOW got a sneak peek of some of Caplan’s collection, including an original handwritten note penned by Lincoln himself.
