Featured artists include Mike Posner, Big Sean, and Tha Jist

Mike Posner

Campus members and the public will get the chance to hear music from rising recording star Mike Posner, and donate towards Haiti relief, by attending Student Events’ spring concert on Tuesday, Feb. 23. The show begins at 8 p.m. in Levin Ballroom. Big Sean and special guest Tha Jist will also perform.

Tickets are $6 and can be purchased at the box office in the Shapiro Campus center or online at Brandeis Tickets. Proceeds will be donated to the Brandeis Haiti Relief Effort.

This fundraiser follows a Haiti relief benefit dinner sponsored by Chabad House on Feb. 5. With a $10 minimum donation to attend, the 100 plus participants raised more than $1,300 for ETE Camp in Haiti, started by Shaina Gilbert '10. The Brandeis Haiti Relief Fund is attempting to raise $25,000 for Haiti relief efforts. More than $8,500 has been raised so far.

Producer/singer/songwriter Posner is also a senior at Duke University, where he’s majoring in sociology and business. He first started making beats when he was just 13, and in January 2009, he wrote, produced and recorded his debut mixtape, “A Matter of Time.” As he works toward graduation, Posner is also working on his debut album and touring. You can download some of his music for free on his Web site.

Student Events is a volunteer student organization that supports the mission of Brandeis University by providing cultural, educational, recreational, and social programs designed for the entire Brandeis community.
