Brandeis featured on PBS NOVA ScienceNOW

Janna Kaplan, M.S., a senior research associate and lecturer at the Ashton Graybiel Spatial Orientation Laboratory works with NOVA host Neil DeGrasse Tyson.

NOVA ScienceNOW featured the Ashton Graybiel Spatial Orientation Laboratory in a program aired Jan. 19 on the challenges of getting a manned mission to Mars.

Hosted by Neil deGrasse Tyson, a renowned astrophysicist, author, and director of the American Museum of Natural History’s Hayden Planetarium in New York City, the episode highlighted new space suits, foods, rockets that may support future Mars-bound astronauts. It included footage of the Ashton Graybiel Spatial Orientation Laboratory “Rotating Room,”an artificial gravity research laboratory, which can accelerate to 35 RPM.
