Gully to take position at Sotheby's
Senior Vice President for Communications and External Affairs Andrew Gully will be leaving Brandeis this month to become senior vice president, worldwide director of communications for Sotheby’s, a global leader in the auction world.
“Andrew has been an integral part of the senior leadership team at Brandeis for the last two-and-a-half years and I am grateful for all his efforts during my tenure,” President Fred Lawrence said in announcing the news. “He has been a strong advocate for Brandeis and has handled an ever-challenging job with great professionalism. Andrew has served Brandeis University with honor and distinction.”
Gully called Brandeis “a unique and extraordinary university.”
“I will always have a great affection for Brandeis. It was a pleasure to work with so many talented and committed members of the Board of Trustees, the faculty, students, alumni and the administration and staff -- especially my colleagues in Communications. Brandeis is in good hands with President Lawrence, now and into what will be an exciting future,” he added.
Prior to coming to Brandeis, Gully held the position of senior vice president, managing director of corporate affairs, at Sovereign Bank in Boston, part of the global Santander Group. He was also a vice president at Kelley Habib John, a Boston marketing and branding firm. A former newspaper reporter and editor for nearly three decades, Gully spent 21 years at the Boston Herald, 11 of those as managing editor.
Details of the search process for a new leader of the university’s communications efforts will be announced in the coming days.
