Entrance Counseling and Promissory Note Signing
Entrance Counseling is a federal and institutional requirement for all student loan borrowers. All first-time Stafford Loan and Perkins Loan borrowers must complete Entrance Counseling and sign a Master Promissory Note (MPN) for each type of loan. These interactive counseling sessions will help you to understand the rights and responsibilities that come with your student loan(s). For most students, the MPN will cover the loans for their entire time at Brandeis University.

2. Once you have completed your Entrance Counseling, you will need to sign your Master Promissory Note. This can also be done online at https://lo-online.ed.gov/empn/unsecure/index.jsp
You will need your Personal Identification Number to complete this step in the process. If you do not recall the PIN that was assigned to you when you completed the FAFSA, you can request it again at this site: www.pin.ed.gov
Federal Perkins Loans
1. First time Federal Perkins Loan borrowers have been sent an email from our loan servicer, Campus Partners, with instructions on how to complete their Perkins Entrance Counseling. To complete your Perkins entrance counseling, please go to this website: ipromise.campuspartners.com
Brandeis Institutional Loan (Brandeis Loan, Saval Loan, or Wien Loan)
If you have been awarded a Brandeis Institutional Loan (Brandeis Loan, Saval Loan, or Wien Loan), you must do Entrance Counseling and sign your Promissory note in person. Since these loans do not have a Master Promissory Note, a new note will need to be signed for each year you receive one of these loans.
If you have any questions, or wish to schedule an in-person Entrance Counseling session and/or sign a Master promissory note, please contact the Student Loan Office at 781-736-4451.
