About the Institute

Since its founding, Brandeis University has signified excellence in education. Over the years, it has increased its renown by continuously expanding its broad variety of undergraduate, graduate, and special opportunities in its many schools and academic departments.

In the year 2000, Brandeis recognized the still unfulfilled demand for educational and intellectual stimulation for adults who are beyond the traditional university years. To help fill that need, the University established the Brandeis Adult Learning Institute (BALI), offered on the Brandeis campus. In 2004, the program assumed a new identity, the Osher Lifetime Learning Institute @ Brandeis (BOLLI). Click for more information about the Bernard Osher Foundation and the OLLI National Network.

The BOLLI Program comprises a diversity of courses, seminars, lectures, and programs combined with social events and local and regional activities designed to meet the unique needs of the adult learner.

The Mission of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute @ Brandeis University (BOLLI)

BOLLI provides a broad range of educational and intellectual activities for retired, semi-retired, and other adult participants. The emphasis within this non-credit program is on peer leadership, providing opportunities for individuals and group participation and research, assigned readings, and individual presentations, sustained by an atmosphere of sociability and mutual encouragement.

BOLLI members are also welcome to participate in a variety of cultural and educational opportunities that are made available to the entire Brandeis community.

For more information about our program, please contact the BOLLI office by phone at: (781) 736-2992 or by email at: bolli@brandeis.edu. Additional information about the program including a list of all current and past semester programs is provided on this Web site. An application for admission to the upcoming school semester is also available.
