Christianity

The Christian community is served by two chaplains. Rev. Walter Cuenin is the Catholic chaplain. His office is on the main hallway of the chaplaincy offices in the USDAN Student Center. He provides services for the Catholic community. There is Mass every Sunday at 10AM and at 7:10PM. In addition, there is daily Mass at 12:10PM on Thursday. For holy days and special moments in the Catholic liturgical year, special services are also planned. Father Cuenin also serves on the Council of Religions.

Alexander Kern is the Protestant chaplain. His office is on the second floor of the USDAN Student Center in the Christian Lounge. He provides services on Sunday at 6PM. In addition, he coordinates several Bible study programs that are held at various times throughout the week.

Both chaplains are also available to students and faculty for private meetings. They are active in the interfaith life of the University taking part in dialogues and panels on religion and spiritual life. Both chaplains also lead a group of students every other week to provide a meal for the homeless in Boston. The Christian chaplains are deeply committed to promoting dialogue among all religions. They are available to be of assistance to anyone of the Brandeis community regardless of their faith community. Brandeis University has two Christian chapels. The Harlan Chapel, named after the Supreme Court Justice, is dedicated for Protestant worship. The Bethlehem Chapel is used for Catholic Mass. These chapels are open every day for private prayer and meditation.
