Save Ohno

This Fall, Sustainable Brandeis is piloting a sustainability competition with SaveOhnoThe Goal of SaveOhno is to engage many students, who may not be normally active in sustainability, in real action that will measurably change their understanding, attitudes, and behavior, and have a significant and lasting impact on sustainability at Brandeis and beyond.

SaveOhno is predicated on the maxim that we act ourselves into thinking differently more easily than we think ourselves into acting differently.

Who is Ohno?

Ohno is the name of each player's future great-grandchild. Ohno lives in a world ravaged by pollution and climate change, but this future is not set in stone. It is up to each team to SaveOhno and improve their planet now by taking various actions online and around campus -- from eating a meatless meal to supporting environmental groups. Not only will you be making the world a better place today, you can help improve Ohno’s future.

Competition 1: Cross-campus participation, from October 9, coinciding with Global Climate Change Week, through October 20, 2017.

Competition 2: November 1 - 21, 2017, between the two first-year residence quads, North & Massell.

Teams compete by completing real-life actions listed online, customized to our community by Sustainable Brandeis. The group that accumulates the most points by completing the most actions wins.
