Designed for today’s global Jewish community, our Jewish Professional Leadership graduate programs and certificates prepare the next generation of leaders to address complex communal challenges and pursue meaningful, dynamic careers in Jewish professional service.

Four Values of Hornstein

1) Learning that translates right from your courses to the field (experiential learning that maps onto your current position and workplace)

2) Emphasis on community building to develop and deepen your professional network

3) Pluralist program- politically, religiously, ethnically (unaffiliated to a religious movement)

4) Exploring the different connections to Israel - understanding the community there and the complex dynamics shaping it

Hornstein has always been a trailblazer

Founded in 1969, Hornstein has trained more than 760 alumni who now serve in leadership roles across the Jewish world, including Jewish federations, JCCs, schools, synagogues, social service agencies, Hillels, camps, foundations, and advocacy organizations.

“The Hornstein Program transformed the field of Jewish communal service. Today, there is hardly a Jew anywhere in the United States who has not benefited from the work of Hornstein alumni in Jewish community centers, schools, synagogues, social service agencies, and related institutions.”
