August 2024 Graduates

Managing Your Brandeis Account and Updating Contact Information

July 9, 2024

Dear Student,

We are writing to share important information about your @brandeis.edu accounts as we approach August graduation.

Graduating students will retain their @brandeis.edu accounts during a seven-month grace period following degree conferral. Once this grace period has ended, your Brandeis Google account, including your email, will be deleted and messages will bounce back to senders as undeliverable.

In September, you will receive additional information to support your transition away from your brandeis.edu account along with an invitation to register for the My Brandeis Gateway alumni portal. We will provide guidance on how to move your personal data, update contact information, and create new credentials to access alumni online resources.

First and foremost, please take the following steps to update your non-Brandeis contact information:

  1. Confirm your home (non-Brandeis) address and contact information in Workday
  2. Add yourself as an authorized party in Nelnet using non-Brandeis email credentials.

If you have any questions about your @brandeis.edu account, or need any assistance updating your contact information, please contact help@brandeis.edu.

Sincerely,

Mark Hewitt

Action Required: Your Brandeis.edu Account

June 25, 2024

Dear Graduate,

Congratulations on your recent graduation! As you make the transition from student to alum, we would like to provide you with important information about managing your @brandeis.edu account.

As we shared in an email on April 19, your @brandeis.edu account will remain active during a seven-month grace period following Commencement. Once this grace period ends, your account, including your email, will be deleted and messages to you will bounce back to senders as undeliverable.

You have the option to transfer your email messages and Google Drive docs to a private Gmail account and can register to continue accessing online services such as alumni library resources. We have created a support site that includes recommended steps as well as instructions and guidelines for moving your personal data, updating contact information, and creating new credentials to access alumni online resources.
We recommend that you take the following steps:

  • Create an alternative personal email account (if you don’t already have one)
  • Notify your contacts of your new email address
  • Update your email address in all personal accounts and subscriptions, including social media, to a non-Brandeis email
  • Preserve any needed data
  • Register for My Brandeis Gateway using a non-Brandeis email account to access online alumni services

If you have any questions about your @brandeis.edu account, or need any assistance updating your contact information, please contact alumaccounts@brandeis.edu.

Sincerely,
