Brand New Music / New Music Brandeis

Brand New Music is a contemporary music concert series that showcases the work of Brandeis student, faculty, and alumni composers. It encompasses New Music Brandeis (NMB), which is programmed and managed by current Brandeis graduate student composers and features professional concerts of student works. It also includes the Undergraduate Composers’ Collective (UCC), which exclusively presents new work by undergraduates, performed by students and special guest artists.

Unless otherwise noted, all concerts are free and open to the public and take place at the Slosberg Music Center.

New Music Brandeis: loadbang
Saturday, February 16, 7 p.m. (repertoire selected by the artists)
Sunday, February 17, 3 p.m. (Brandeis student compositions)
New York City-based new-music chamber group loadbang performs original works for trumpet, trombone, bass clarinet and baritone voice.

Undergraduate Composers’ Collective
Friday, April 5, 7 p.m.
Undergraduate composers premiere their latest works, performed by fellow students and special guests.

New Music Brandeis: Ludovico Ensemble
Friday, April 12, 8 p.m.
The Boston-based ensemble, known for its carefully curated programs focusing on specific and often unusual instrumentations, caps off their residency with a performance of student works.

New Music Brandeis: Sound Icon
Saturday, May 4, 8 p.m. (repertoire selected by the artists)
Sunday, May 5, 3 p.m. (Brandeis student compositions)
New Music Brandeis closes the season with Boston's groundbreakings contemporary music sinfonietta.
