The Burning Boards
Figures from the worlds of art and chess came together for a unique chess competition. Thirty-two players, including Brandeis Provost Lisa Lynch and artist Glenn Kaino, competed using chess sets made from burning candles. Developed by Los Angeles-based artist Glenn Kaino in 2007 for the Whitney Museum of American Art and performed at the Rose Art Museum as part of the 2015 Leonard Bernstein Festival of the Creative Arts.
