Cascading Lives

Funders and Supporters

Our Funders

Support for the Cascading Lives project comes from the Voices for Economic Opportunity Grand Challenge. Launched in 2019, the Grand Challenge seeks to address the persistent toxic narratives about poverty in the U.S. by elevating diverse voices and broadening the national conversation about poverty and economic mobility. Our key partners on the challenge include the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the Raikes Foundation. As a Grand Challenge grantee, this project also received support from the Voices for Economic Opportunity Incubator, a new model for narrative change and social impact built and led by Purpose and supported by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

Our Supporters

Brandeis University and Boston University have provided supportive institutional contexts for the Cascading Lives project. A special thanks to the Office of the Provost and the Women’s Studies Research Center at Brandeis University for supporting the Cascading Lives working group from 2018-2021. This was a critical opportunity for developing the ideas and working relationships that would become the Cascading Lives: Stories of Loss, Resilience, and Resistance project. Special thanks also to the Brandeis University Office of Communications, Marketing, and External Relations, specifically to Digital Content Specialist Anne Meade, without whom this website would not be possible.
