For all students returning to campus
Spring 2021
Transmission and prevalence of COVID-19 is significantly higher in Massachusetts and nationwide than it was when the fall semester began. Below are measures you’ll need to take to start this semester while protecting our community’s health and safety. Please check carefully to see which category applies to you:
- If you are returning from outside Massachusetts, and you received a negative result on a Brandeis-supplied COVID-19 test within 72 hours of arriving in Massachusetts:
- Upon arriving in Waltham, take an on-campus Brandeis COVID-19 test as soon as possible (testing times and locations will be updated in the Campus Passport portal).
- For students living on campus, or off-campus students on a meal plan: Until your first on-campus test comes back negative, remain in your residence hall room or off-campus apartment except to pick up meals at the dining halls or to get necessary health care.
- For students living in off-campus housing without a meal plan: Until your first on-campus test comes back negative, we encourage you to remain at home except for essential errands or necessary health care.
- Once you receive an on-campus negative test result, you may resume all use of Brandeis facilities while participating in all health and safety requirements.
- Typically, test results are shared in 24 hours or less.
- Complete Massachusetts’ travel form before you come to campus.
- If you are returning from outside Massachusetts (including outside the U.S.) and you did not take a Brandeis-supplied COVID-19 test before traveling, or you didn’t receive a negative test result, you will need to participate in Massachusetts’ travel quarantine. This means:
- Upon arriving in Waltham, take an on-campus Brandeis COVID-19 test as soon as possible (testing times and locations will be updated in the Campus Passport portal).
- For students living on campus: Until your on-campus test comes back negative, remain in your residence hall room except to get necessary health care. Meals will be delivered to you.
- Students living off-campus must comply with all Massachusetts Travel Order requirements, including quarantine.
- Once you receive an on-campus negative test result, you may resume all use of Brandeis facilities while participating in all health and safety requirements.
- Typically, test results are shared in 24 hours or less.
- Fill out Massachusetts’ travel form before you come to campus.
- If you are returning to campus or Waltham from within Massachusetts
- We urge you to come to Brandeis to take a free COVID-19 test or to take a test at a Stop the Spread location within 72 hours of your planned return to campus.
- Upon arriving on campus/in Waltham to stay, take another COVID-19 test at Brandeis as soon as you can (testing times and locations will be updated in the Campus Passport portal).
- Until your first on-campus test comes back negative, remain in your residence hall room except to pick up your meals or get necessary health care.
- Once you have received a negative test result from your on-campus test, you may resume all use of Brandeis facilities while participating in all health and safety requirements.
- Typically, test results are shared in 24 hours or less.
- If you have lived on campus or in Waltham and participated in the testing protocol throughout the break, you may continue to use all Brandeis facilities while participating in all health and safety requirements.
- If you receive a positive COVID-19 test within 10 days ahead of your departure for Brandeis, you must delay your arrival to campus. Please contact the Brandeis Contact Tracing Team to discuss your options for arrival to campus.
- If you have received a positive test result any time in the last 90 days and have been medically released from isolation, you cannot initially participate in our COVID-19 testing program. It is mandatory that you review and follow these instructions to ensure that your Campus Passport is up to date.
