Brandeis Dining

Aug. 26, 2019

Dear Members of the Brandeis Community,

Over the next several months, the university will begin developing a new Request for Proposals (RFP) for our dining services program, asking multiple vendors to issue proposals to us for the administration of the Brandeis dining program beginning in July 2020. The development of the RFP will be based on the results of community-wide conversations and the input of our dining consultants at the TMC Group. We will be seeking your ideas and comments as part of this process.

We know dining services are an important aspect of campus life. As a result, our review will be a thoroughly comprehensive assessment of our food services program. For instance, we will look anew at meal plan design and values, as well as the pricing, locations and hours of our dining spaces, and the composition of our menus, kosher program and event catering.

Our existing contract with Sodexo will continue through June 30, 2020, which will enable us to carefully consider what will best serve Brandeis over the years ahead and ensure that our dining program continues without disruption this academic year.

We very much appreciate Sodexo’s cooperation in this process and will invite them to respond to the RFP, along with other providers who we believe can meet our needs.

You will hear more about how you can get involved in this important process after the fall semester begins. As was clear during our successful selection process for Workday, gathering opinions and recommendations from a broad spectrum of Brandeis stakeholders will help us develop the most comprehensive plan and make the most thoughtful choice possible. We hope you will share your thoughts with us as the process gets underway.

Best,

Stew Uretsky
