The Knight-Hennessy Scholarship
The Knight-Hennessy Scholarship Program grants scholarships to Stanford graduate students from across all departments and programs who demonstrate leadership potential. The scholarship covers the cost of tuition for Stanford graduate school and includes a living stipend, funds for academic enrichment opportunities, and the opportunity to participate in the King Global Leadership Program at Stanford.

Eligibility
- Must apply separately to and be admitted to a Stanford graduate program.
- Earned an undergraduate degree within the last 6 years.
Application Timeline
- Recommended Campus Deadline: September 1, 2024
- National Deadline: October 9, 2024
Award
- During first three years of study, scholars receive:
- Fellowship applied directly to cover tuition and associated fees.
- Stipend for living and academic expenses.
- Travel stipend to cover economy-class tickets for one annual trip to and from Stanford.
- Students may apply for additional funds or funds beyond their third year.
- Scholars take part of the King Global Leadership Program, KHS community at Stanford and attend exclusive events and opportunities.

- Apply separately to your intended Stanford graduate program.
- Fill out an online KHS application
- Upload a current resume that reflects your leadership qualities through past academic and work experiences.
- Scan and upload transcripts from your undergraduate coursework.
- Submit your graduate test scores (such as the GRE) if the graduate program you are applying for requires them.
- Request two recommendation letters from people who can speak to your academic and personal character.
- Answer three short-answer questions on the online application. Short-answer questions can be found on the Knight-Hennessy website.
- Write a 600-word essay that answers the question: How have the influences in your life shaped you?

- Courageous, driven, and resilient leadership
- Collaborative community members who are humble, empathetic, trustworthy, and oriented toward acts of service to others
