Udall Foundation Tribal Policy and Native American Health Care Undergraduate Scholarship
The Udall Undergraduate Scholarship awards sophomores and juniors up to $7,000 in scholarship who demonstrate a commitment to Native American issues, public service, and leadership. Students who are interested in working on an array of policy issues or pursuing health-related careers concerning Native American or Alaskan Native people are encouraged to apply. The Udall Fellowship awards three types of awards: tribal policy, Native American Healthcare, and environment.

Eligibility
- Sophomore or junior
- Enrolled in a state or federally recognized Native American band or tribe (including Canadian First Nations) and/or your parents or grandparents are enrolled in a state or federally recognized Native American band or tribe
- Permanent US resident or US citizen
Application Timeline
- Intent-to-Apply Deadline: January 10, 2025
- Campus Deadline: February 2025
- National Deadline: March 5, 2025
Award
- A scholarship up to $7,000
- A 5-day expenses paid trip to Tucson, AZ
- Access to the Udall Scholarship network

- Write an 800-word essay related to the Udall Foundation’s core values.
- Fill out the 11-short answer application questions which can be accessed through Meredith Monaghan.
Udall is seeking scholars who demonstrate the following qualities:
Tribal Policy Fellowship
- A passion for and commitment to the Native American community through participation in cultural activities and service in the community.
- Working towards a career path that will make a difference for the applicant’s tribe or for the Native American or Alaska Natives community in general.
- Leadership skills that inspire action and motivates others to act.
- Committed to making a difference through civility and consensus building.
- Works well with others, mediates conflicts, identifies solutions, and apt at problem-solving.
Native Health Care Fellowship
- Interested in improving health care practice and delivery in Indian country, or contributing to health care policy and research.
- A passion for and commitment to the Native American community through participation in cultural activities and service in the community.
- Working towards a career path that will make a positive impact on the health care of the applicant’s tribe or for the Native American and Alaska Native community in general.
- Leadership skills that inspire action and motivates others to act.
- Committed to making a difference through civility and consensus building.
- Works well with others, mediates conflicts, identifies solutions, and apt at problem-solving.
