Student Learning/Living Experience
This task force is asked to consider how we might develop a more holistic community for all our students — one that integrates academic and co-curricular experiences and provides students with a sense of home and belonging on campus. This group will be asked to gather a myriad of data, including best practices from peer institutions, and assess existing and potential new resources at Brandeis for both undergraduate and graduate students. It will make specific recommendations in the form of a report to be delivered to the president by mid-spring 2019.
The objectives of this task force are broad, and the expectations are that its recommendations will be comprehensive. The Task Force is charged with making recommendations to transform the residence life experience into a more vibrant, inclusive, and engaged experience; to rethink how to build relationships between faculty and students, in both the advising system and the residence halls; and to address concerns about social life on and off campus.
On the graduate level, the task force has similar objectives. It will make recommendations about how to improve advising structures and support, as well as how to develop a greater sense of community and belonging for students across the schools.
