Concentration Requirements

A total of 18 credits is required to complete the MBA concentration in Social Impact. These credits may also be counted toward fulfilment of other concentrations or of the MBA core requirements. Excess credits in foundation courses are counted toward the electives requirement.
Foundation courses (12 credits total)
Take any 10 credits from the following courses:
  • HS 254a Human Resource Management (4 credits)
  • FIN 234a Social Impact Investing (4 credits)
  • HS 342f ESG Measurement and Impact Investing (2 credits)
  • HS 249F Social Justice, Management, and Policy (2 credits)
  • HS 353a Managing the Triple Bottom Line (4 credits)

At least 2 credits from:

  • BUS297c Board Fellows (4 credits-2 semesters)
  • HS 228a Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation (2 credits)
Other Electives (choose 6 credits):
  • BUS 215F Python and Applications to Business Analytics I (2 credits)
  • BUS 227a Influence, Power and Identity (4 credits)
  • BUS 240F Information Visualization (2 credits)
  • BUS 264b Climate Innovation (2 credits)
  • FIN 204a Corporate Finance Theory and Practice (4 credits)
  • FIN 205a Investments and Portfolio Management (4 credits)
  • HS 225a Social Impact Fundraising and Development (4 credits)
  • HS 372b Economic Theory and Social Policy (4 credits)
  • or any course from the foundation courses list that has not been used to satisfy the requirement
