General Finance Requirements

Students who choose not to complete a concentration, may complete the 16-month MSF degree requirements by following the additional general finance requirements outlined below. Please note that students must enroll in the 16-month MSF program to select a concentration.

Group 1 — Approved Finance Electives (16 credits minimum required)

  • BUS 211a: Foundations of Data Analytics (4 credits) - Fall & Spring
  • BUS 235f: Real Estate Fundamentals (2 credits) - Fall
  • ECON 213a: Applied Econometrics with R (4 credits) - Fall
  • ECON/FIN 210a: The Psychology of Finance (4 credits) - Fall (EOY)
  • ECON/FIN 250a: Forecasting in Finance and Economics (4 credits) -Fall & Spring
  • FIN 213a: Int. Financial Accounting (if not used to full core req.) (4 credits) - Fall
  • FIN 214a: Managerial Accounting (4 credits) - Spring
  • FIN 216f: Financial Statement Analysis (2 credits) - Fall
  • FIN 225f: Real Estate Finance (2 credits) - Spring
  • FIN 232a: Mergers and Acquisitions (4 credits) - Fall & Spring
  • FIN 234a: Social Impact Investing (4 credits) - Spring
  • FIN 236f: Technical Analysis (2 credits) - Fall

Group 2 — Additional Finance or General Elective (2 credits max)

  • BUS 297a: Approved Internship in Asset Management (2 credits) OR
  • Any FIN, BUS, ECON, BUS/FIN, BUS/ECON, ECON/FN course offered at International Business School (except BUS 249f) (including, but not limited to the courses listed above, if not used to fulfill that requirement.)
