President Barack Obama named Richard Weisberg to the White House Commission on the Preservation of America’s Heritage Abroad. Weisberg, professor of constitutional law at Yeshiva University’s Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, is serving as a visiting professor of law at Georgetown University this fall. In 2009, Weisberg was awarded the Legion of Honor by the government of France in recognition of his work with the U.S. State Department and French officials to provide restitution from France to victims of the wartime Vichy regime. A recipient of Guggenheim, American Council of Learned Societies and Rockefeller Foundation fellowships, he is the author of four books.
