Maxine Goodman is a faculty member at the South Texas College of Law, where she teaches legal research and writing. Before joining the faculty in 2002, she was a partner at Carrigan, Lapin & Landa. Her scholarly interests include racism in carrying out the death penalty. Lawrence Saubermann is a gastroenterologist at Strong Memorial Hospital and associate professor of medicine at the University of Rochester’s school of medicine. Mike Shaffer is an associate at Winner and Associates in Anchorage, Alaska. From 2001–03, he served as a director of the Anchorage Bar Association and also co-chaired the annual statewide High School Mock Trial Competition.
