Recipients of Fulbright grants are selected on the basis of their academic and professional achievement, and demonstrated leadership potential. Last winter, Tess received national press coverage when she developed a “Wakanda curriculum” that drew on her Chicago students’ interest in the “Black Panther” movie to inspire them to learn more about African history. Rachel Salston was ordained as a rabbi by the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies in May. She lives in New York, where she serves as ritual director at the Park Avenue Synagogue.
