Thomas P. Glynn III, Heller MSW’72, PhD’77, in November stepped down as the Massachusetts Port Authority’s chief executive. He held the post for six years. An Aug. 16, 2018, Boston Globe story described his time on the job: “While at Massport, Glynn has been one of Boston’s most influential power brokers, with three airports and three ship terminals under his purview, as well as big chunks of real estate on the East Boston and South Boston waterfronts.” Charles Stransky, MFA’75, appeared in “A Shayna Maidel” at Chicago’s TimeLine Theatre, playing Polish immigrant Mordechai, whose family was torn asunder during World War II. The play is “about a family broken apart by war, by the Holocaust, by the Depression, seeking to rebuild and re-create that [bond],” Charles said in an interview with the Chicago Daily Herald. Albert Cuoco, MA’79, PhD’80, was awarded the 2018 Mary P. Dolciani Award by the Mathematical Association of America. Albert, an Education Development Center Distinguished Scholar/Adviser, serves on the board of directors of Math for America-Boston and the advisory board of the mathematics department at UMass Lowell.
