Recognizing the Tragedy in New Zealand
March 15, 2019
Dear Students, Staff, and Faculty,
This morning we are thinking of the victims of the mosque shootings in New Zealand. We are horrified by this violent act that was motivated by bigotry, anti-Muslim, and anti-immigrant sentiment as worshippers were gathered for their Friday prayers.
We will meet at the Peace Circle outside Usdan at 12:15 p.m. today to support our Muslim community. May we find comfort and strength in coming together.
If you are in need of additional support during this difficult time, we encourage you to visit the Support at Brandeis website for a full list of resources available on campus.
Sincerely,
Ron Liebowitz, President
Rabbi Liza Stern, Director of Spiritual and Religious Life and Jewish Chaplain
