BSAs at orientation 2018

BSAs are undergraduate leaders and peer educators with a passion for sustainability. The BSA program was founded in 2018 by students through the Brandeis Sustainability Fund. Every semester, BSAs receive a budget they can use for their own sustainability initiatives, such as supporting the Green Office Program.

BSAs are the student creators and leaders of the Green Office Certification Program and the Green Room Certification Program. Students are trained to educate campus faculty and staff on how to green their offices and departments, and similarly on how to do the same in individual residence hall rooms.  Through this process, they become experts in energy efficiency, waste reduction, recycling, composting, and various green practices on campus.

BSAs:

  • Lead the Green Office and Green Room Certification Programs
  • Incorporate sustainability into new student orientation
  • Help with green events on campus
  • Support national Planetary Health Alliance activities
  • Meet weekly to plan educational events and support the Office of Sustainability
  • Receive access to special events and activities through the Office of Sustainability

Anyone can join. If you are interested in becoming a BSA, please contact us!
