A Tribute to Irving Fine

Irving Fine

Irving Fine (1914-1962)

Each year, we celebrate the life, legacy, and music of composer, educator, and founder of the Brandeis School of Creative Arts Irving Fine.

The 2018-2019 Irving Fine tribute concert will be Sunday, March 17, 2019 at 3 p.m. at the Slosberg Music Center, and will feature dramatic, highly idiomatic works including Fine’s 1956 Fantasia for String Trio, Aaron Copland’s 1950 Piano Quartet, and Gabriel Fauré’s Piano Quartet in C Minor.

The Lydian Quartet’s Mark Berger (viola) and Joshua Gordon (cello) will be joined by two outstanding guest artists Charles Dimmick (violin) and Leslie Amper (piano).
