DeisHikes from Greening the Ivory Tower
Jan. 13, 2013

During the Fall semester 2012, through the experiential learning course, “Greening the Ivory Tower,” Brendan Hasz, Dan Straub and Elliot Lustig introduced a new student-run organization called DeisHikes. DeisHikes focuses on getting Brandeis kids into the great outdoors, encouraging students to get acquainted with Sachar Woods and trails throughout the natural areas of Waltham. The creators of DeisHikes believe that connecting with nature is extremely important in understanding the impact of environmental degradation. Throughout the semester, you can receive updates on when DeisHikes will be going on a trek by liking their facebook page.
Want to explore the natural landscape of Waltham on your own? In addition to establishing group outings, the student creators of DeisHikes have made an interactive map of trails in the area! Check it out to map out your next route.
